*Aethusa cynapium Linnaeus. Fool's-Parsley. Phen: Jun-Sep. Hab: Disturbed areas. Dist: Native of Eurasia. Introduced and naturalized in ne. United States, at least as far south as se. PA (Rhoads & Klein 1993), DE, and Pocahontas County, WV.

Origin/Endemic status: Eurasia

Taxonomy Comments: In Europe, several subspecies are often recognized (see synonymy); it is not well-understood how these entities relate to material naturalized in North America and for now we treat the species broadly.
