*Zephyranthes bifida (Herbert) Nic. García & Meerow. Common name: Oxblood-lily. Phenology: Aug-Sep. Habitat: Persistent from horticultural use. Distribution: Native of South America (Uruguay, ne. Argentina, s. Brazil, and Paraguay).
Origin/Endemic status: South America
Taxonomy Comments: The phylogeny in García et al. (2017) suggested that this species belongs in neither Hippeastrum (unless that is treated very broadly) nor Rhodophiala. García et al. (2019) placed it in a monotypic Zephyranthes subgenus Neorhodophiala.
