Origin/Endemic status: Native

Taxonomy Comments: With the elevation of the non-typic variety of Cirsium ochrocentrum to species rank (Nesom 2021i), our taxon returns to specific rank.

Synonymy: = Nesom (2021i); = Cirsium ochrocentrum A.Gray var. ochrocentrum – FNA19, K3, K4; < Cirsium ochrocentrum A.Gray – GrPl, Mex, NcTx, Ok
