Solidago austrocaroliniana Semple & J.B. Nelson. Common name: South Carolina Goldenrod. Phenology: May-Jun. Habitat: Moist clay soils. Distribution: Known only from the type collection, in the upper Piedmont of SC.
Origin/Endemic status: Endemic
Taxonomy Comments: See Semple & Nelson (2018) for detailed information. Ungberg (pers.comm. 2024) is studying the type and is unsure that it represents a valid, new species.
