Pityopsis tenuifolia (Torrey) Nesom. Common name: West Gulf Grassleaf-Goldenaster. Phenology: Jul-Oct. Habitat: Dry woodlands. Distribution: E. AR south to sw. MS and w to se. OK and e. TX.

Origin/Endemic status: Endemic

Taxonomy Comments: Nesom (2019a) indicated that this species is similar to P. tracyi but from its past placement is generally somewhat smaller in most characters. This species is diploid (n=18).
