Dichanthelium pedicellatum (Vasey) Gould. Common name: Cedar Witchgrass, Corm-based Witchgrass. Phenology: March-Nov. Habitat: Dry prairies and open oak woodlands; limestone outcrops. Distribution: C. and w. TX south to Mexico (COA, NLE, OAX, TAM) and Central America.
ID notes: Distinguished most readily from similar D. nodatum by its longer internodes and lesser number of culm leaves (4-7 vs. 8-14 in D. nodatum).
