Hydrocharis Linnaeus. Common name: Frog's-bit.
A genus of 4-5 species, aquatic and wetland herbs, of the Old World. Bernardini & Lucchese (2018) and Li et al. (2022) follow others in suggesting the possibility of including Limnobium in Hydrocharis, based on phylogenetic sister or embedded status and similar morphology; we follow this proposal.
Subfamily: Hydrocharitoideae.References: Bernardini & Lucchese (2018); Catling & Dore (1982); Cook (1998b) In Kubitzki (1998b); Cook & Lüönd (1982); Haynes (2000c) In Flora of North America Editorial Committee (2000); Li et al. (2022). Show full citations.
