Liatris turgida Gaiser. Common name: Shale Blazing-star. Phenology: Jul-mid Sep. Habitat: Shale barrens, other low elevation outcrops. Distribution: E. WV and w. VA south to w. NC and nw. GA.

Origin/Endemic status: Endemic

Taxonomy Comments: See Nesom (2005c) and Clark (2019) for additional discussion about taxonomic uncertainties regarding L. turgida and L. helleri.
