Lindernia saxicola M.A. Curtis. Common name: Riverbank Pimpernel. Phenology: Mar-Jun (-Oct). Habitat: On river-scoured siliceous rocks. Distribution: Sw. NC south to n. AL.
Origin/Endemic status: Endemic
Taxonomy Comments: L. saxicola has been considered to be merely a form of L. monticola, the leafy stems the result of the basal leaves being covered by silt deposited by floodwaters (Qualls 1984; Lewis 2000; Lewis 2019a); this needs additional study.
