Viola subsinuata Greene var. 1 ["Chapel Hill" variant] . Section: Nosphinium. Subsection: Borealiamericanae. Chapel Hill Violet. Phen: Apr-May. Hab: Sandy or rocky loamy soils in rich dry and dry-mesic forests, probably associated with mafic rocks. Dist: Endemic to nc. NC (so far as is known).
