Phen: Mar-May Hab: Somewhat acidic, well-drained sandy soils in oak and oak-pine forests, and open sites along forest borders and roadsides adjacent to open woodlands, lowland prairies. Dist: W. MO and e. KS south through AR and e. OK to w. LA and e. TX.
