*Juncus conglomeratus Linnaeus. Common name: Bunch-flowered Soft Rush. Phenology: Jul-Sep. Habitat: Low, marshy or peaty places. Distribution: Native of Europe. Reported for West Virginia and northward.
ID notes: Much like J. effusus but the heads densely compact and congested, with a bract that can be swollen and occasionally slightly reflexed.
