*Alstroemeria pulchella Linnaeus f.. Common name: Peruvian-lily, Parrot-lily. Phenology: Apr-Jun. Habitat: Disturbed areas, roadsides and forest understories near plantings. Distribution: Native of Brazil. Naturalized in Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas (Holmes in FNA 2002; Singhurst, Keith, & Holmes 2005).
Origin/Endemic status: Neotropics
Taxonomy Comments: Various names have been applied to introductions in our region. It is not clear that more than one taxon is represented, nor what name (s) should be applied to what are likely horticultural cultivars.
