Crataegus lettermani . Common name: Letterman's Hawthorn. Phenology: Apr; Sep-Oct. Habitat: Mesic woodlands, scrubland, pastures. Distribution: Endemic of s. MO.

Origin/Endemic status: Endemic

Taxonomy Comments: The morphology suggests hybrid origin of a form of C. collina with perhaps C. margaretiae; alternatively promoted as a variety of C. collina by Eggleston (1908) and Phipps (FNA9). This taxon is not locally confined and needs further analysis.
