ID notes:Spikes are quite similar to C. retrorsus at a glance. The sterile, reduced terminal scales, usually with a minute, uncinate mucro are diagnostic. C. retrorsus is a more robust plant with erect or strongly ascending bracts, and broader leaves and bracts.
