*Anthyllis vulneraria Linnaeus. Common name: Kidney-vetch, Vulnéraire. Phenology: Jun-Aug. Habitat: Disturbed areas. Distribution: Native of Mediterranean Europe, n. Africa, w. Asia, and extending into more northern Europe.

Origin/Endemic status: Mediterranean Europe and Africa

Taxonomy Comments: POWO (2024) recognized dozens of subspecies; apparently only ssp. vulneraria has been introduced in North America.

Synonymy : = C, Can, F, FNA11.1, Il, K4, Mi, NE, NS, NY, Isely (1998); = n/a — Pa; > Anthyllis vulneraria ssp. vulneraria — POWO. Basionym: Anthyllis vulneraria L. 1753
