*Dichrostachys cinerea (Linnaeus) Wight & Arnott. Common name: African Sickle Bush, Kalahari Christmas Tree, Aroma. Phenology: Jun-Feb. Habitat: Coastal dunes, disturbed areas over limestone. Origin/Endemic status: Subsaharan Africa
Taxonomy Comments: POWO (2024) accepts numerous infrataxa for its native distribution in the Old World tropics; so far as is known, only ssp. africana is naturalized in North America.
