Carex livida (Wahlenberg) Willdenow. Section: [26aa] Section 18 Paniceae. Phen: Jun-Jul. Hab: Bogs and fens. Dist: Circumboreal, south in North America to s. NJ, NY, MI, IN, MN, CO, and CA; also disjunct in Panama and South America.

Origin/Endemic status: Native

Taxonomy Comments: Material in NJ is described as being atypical and needing additional research (Rothrock & Reznicek in FNA 2002b).
