Acalypha poiretii Sprengel. Habitat: Dry sandy or gravelly areas (s. TX); eastwards in our region as a waif on ballast, perhaps in other disturbed areas. Distribution: S. TX, south into Mexico and beyond. Native of the Neotropics.
