*Hypoestes phyllostachya J.G. Baker. Common name: Polka Dot Plant. Phenology: Jun-Sep. Habitat: Suburban woodlands, escaped from cultivation. Distribution: Native of Madagascar. Reported for Leon and Alachua counties, FL (Wunderlin & Hansen 2011).

Origin/Endemic status: Subsaharan Africa

Synonymy : = Fl6, K4, NS, POWO, WH3; = n/a — S. Basionym: Hypoestes phyllostachya Baker 1887
