Crataegus quaesita Beadle var. quaesita . Common name: Florida Hawthorn. Phenology: Late Mar-Apr; Aug-Sep. Habitat: Oak-pine forests, xeric woodlands, especially in sandy soils. Distribution: S. GA, n. and peninsular FL.
ID notes: Purported in the protologue by Beadle to have purple anthers, a trait not confirmed among available herbarium specimens. This variety is more restricted in range than related varieties.
