Asclepias asperula (Decaisne) Woodson ssp. capricornu (Woodson) Woodson. Common name: Spider Antelope-horn. Phenology: Mar-Sep (-Nov); Apr-Sep (-Nov). Habitat: Rocky or sandy prairies. Distribution: Sc. NE south through KS and OK to sc. TX and NM.

Origin/Endemic status: Native

Taxonomy Comments: Fishbein (2023) argued against treatment of this taxon at species rank because of a zone of introgression or admixture of traits in n. TX and w. OK.
