Trichocoronis wrightii (Torrey & A. Gray) A. Gray var. wrightii . Phen: Apr-May. Hab: Prairies, depressions, ephemeral wetlands, ditches, ponds. Often with some sort of seasonal or permanent subaquatic to aquatic association. Dist: S. TX.

Key advice:The cypselae of this taxon has a pappus that is "essentially absent or of a few very minute fimbrillate scales" (Correll and Johnston 1979). Thus, the scales (if present) could potentially be confused with bristles; it is not keyed as a fail-safe in B:1a because of this distinction.
