Crotalaria pumila Ortega. Common name: Low Rattlebox. Phenology: Jan-Dec. Habitat: Beach dunes, coastal grasslands, coastal strands, pine rocklands, disturbed uplands. Distribution: FL peninsula; West Indies; TX, AZ, and NM south through Mexico and Central America to South America.

Origin/Endemic status: Native

Taxonomy Comments: Isely discusses "regional segregates of taxonomic significance", and that FL plants are probably related to West Indian plants and differ from sw. United States and Mexican plants; study is needed.
