*Iris ensata Thunberg. Common name: Japanese Iris. Phenology: Jun-Jul. Habitat: Roadsides; cultivated and rarely escaped. Distribution: Native of Japan, n. China, and Sakhalin. Also reported from se. PA (Rhodes & Klein 1993) and s. AL (H. Horne, pers. comm. 2013).
