Senega smallii (R.R. Smith & D.B. Ward) J.F.B. Pastore & J.R. Abbott. Common name: Small’s Milkwort, Tiny Milkwort, Small’s Small Milkwort. Phenology: Mar-May (-Apr). Habitat: Pine rocklands, Florida scrub, scrubby pine flatwoods. Distribution: Endemic to Atlantic Coast Ridge of se. FL (St. Lucie, Martin, Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade counties).
ID notes: The yellow-green flowers and narrowly oblanceolate leaves differ from the bright yellow flowers and spatulate leaves of Polygala nana. See key for more information.
