Krugiodendron ferreum (Vahl) Urban. Common name: Black Ironwood, Leadwood, Strongback. Phenology: Jan-Dec. Habitat: Maritime hammocks, rockland hammocks, coastal berms. Distribution: Peninsular FL (mainly extreme s. FL and the Keys, and on the east coast from Brevard County southwards); West Indies; Mexico south to Central America.
