Potentilla paradoxa Nuttall. Section: Rivales. Common name: Bushy Cinquefoil. Phenology: May-Sep. Habitat: Riverbanks, lakeshores, also roadsides. Distribution: NY, QC, MB, SK, AB, and BC south to e. PA, n. OH, se. MI, s. IN, s. IL, MO, n. TX, NM, AZ, and OR. Reported for s. IN by Bill Thomas (pers.comm., 2022).

Origin/Endemic status: Native

Taxonomy Comments: Sometimes treated as a subspecies of the circumboreal P. supina complex.
