Houstonia floridana Standley. Common name: Rockland Bluet. Phenology: Jan-Dec. Habitat: Pine rocklands, marl prairies. Distribution: S. FL (Miami-Dade and Monroe counties); n. Bahamas.

Origin/Endemic status: Native

Taxonomy Comments: The epithet "filifolia" (used in various combinations at genus and variety level and in various genera) was determined by Terrell (1986) to apply to typic Houstonia nigricans, a judgment now fixed by designation of a lectotype.
