Hymenocallis pygmaea Traub. Common name: Pygmy Spiderlily, Waccamaw Spiderlily. Phenology: May-Jun; Jun-Jul. Habitat: Banks of blackwater rivers. Distribution: Se. NC south to ne. SC, perhaps endemic to the Waccamaw and Pee Dee river drainages, where locally abundant.
ID notes: Strikingly different in appearance from H. crassifolia.
