Pycnanthemum muticum (Michaux) Persoon var. 1. Phenology: Jun-Aug; Sep-Oct. Habitat: Bogs, wet meadows, moist to wet forests. Distribution: NH and MA south to NC and SC.

Origin/Endemic status: Native

Taxonomy Comments: A diploid, tetraploid, and hexaploid (?) species (n = 20, 40, ca. 54), under study by D.B. Poindexter.

Synonymy : < Koellia mutica (Michx.) Kuntze — S; < Pycnanthemum muticum (Michx.) Pers. — C, F, G, GW2, K4, NE, Pa, RAB, Va, Chambers & Hamer (1992).
