Crataegus palmeri Sargent. Palmer's Hawthorn. Phen: May; Sept.-Oct. Hab: Hardwood and pine-hardwood forests, scrubland, brush. Dist: Sporadic from se. KS, e. OK, e. TX to AR, MO, and TN (?).

ID notes: Similar to C. reverchonii in leaf shape, but differing by larger leaf size (4-7 cm long) and 2 or 3 styles (3-5 styles in C. reverchonii).

Origin/Endemic status: Native

Taxonomy Comments: Possibly an intermediate of C. crus-galli L. and C. reverchonii Sargent.

Synonymy : = F, GrPl, K1, S, Tn; = Crataegus reverchonii Sarg. var. palmeri (Sarg.) J.B.Phipps – FNA9; > Crataegus ×palmeri Sarg. – Lance (2014)
