Crataegus palmeri Sargent. Common name: Palmer's Hawthorn. Phenology: May; Sept.-Oct. Habitat: Hardwood and pine-hardwood forests, scrubland, brush. Distribution: Sporadic from se. KS, e. OK, e. TX to AR, MO, and TN (?).
ID notes: Similar to C. reverchonii in leaf shape, but differing by larger leaf size (4-7 cm long) and 2 or 3 styles (3-5 styles in C. reverchonii).

Taxonomy Comments: Possibly an intermediate of C. crus-galli L. and C. reverchonii Sargent.
