ID notes: The spring growth is densely pubescent or canescent and leaves are rhombic-elliptic and sharply serrate.

Taxonomy Comments: This ambiguous taxon is poorly known and represented by few collections. It is suspected of being of interserial hybrid origin involving Crataegus collina, but needs further analysis.
