Leucothoe fontanesiana (Steudel) Sleumer. Mountain Doghobble, Switch-ivy. Phen: Apr-May; Sep-Oct. Hab: Moist slopes, streambanks, ravines, often associated with Rhododendron maximum thickets. Dist: A Southern Appalachian endemic: sw. VA south through w. NC and e. TN to nw. GA.
