A genus of about 50 species, herbs, of tropical and warm temperate regions.
ID notes:Murdannia has radial, blue or lavender (to white) flowers, not borne from spathes. The flowers have 2 or 3 fertile stamens with bearded filaments, and 4 or 3 staminodes. Our species are annuals, often forming dense patches in wetlands.
