Eleocharis bifida S.G. Smith. Cedar Glade Spikerush. Hab: Seasonally wet seepage in limestone glades. Dist: KY and w. VA south through TN to nw. GA and n. AL. Known from a single collection in VA (Rockbridge County); and otherwise primarily occurs in KY and TN and adjacent areas of surrounding states.

Origin/Endemic status: Endemic

Taxonomy Comments: This species has trifid styles; the species epithet "bifida" refers to the bifid apex of the spikelet scales.

Synonymy: = FNA23, K3, K4; < Eleocharis compressa Sull. – C, of many earlier authors
