*Buxus sempervirens Linnaeus. Boxwood. Phen: Jul-Oct. Hab: Persistent for decades at abandoned homesites, and spreading weakly from dumped hedge trimmings and other cuttings. Dist: Native of Europe. Reported for AL Coastal Plain (Diamond 2013) and the Arkansas Coastal Plain (Serviss et al. 2020).

Origin/Endemic status: Europe

Other Comments: Popular for hedges and landscaping; also sometimes cultivated for wreathing.
