Astragalus michauxii (Kuntze) F.J. Hermann. Section: Michauxiani. Sandhill Milkvetch, Michaux's Milkvetch. Phen: Late Apr-Jun; Jun-Oct (and persisting). Hab: Longleaf pine sandhills, in loamy, clayey, or sandy areas. Dist: Sc. NC south through SC to GA, a Southeastern Coastal Plain endemic (reports from AL and FL are in error).

Origin/Endemic status: Endemic

Other Comments: "The Michaux milk-vetch is greatly isolated from any member of the genus morphologically similar" (Barneby 1964).
