Baptisia bracteata Muhlenberg ex Elliott. Common name: Creamy Wild Indigo. Phenology: Mar-Apr; May-Jun. Habitat: Dry ridgetop woodlands and forests, longleaf pine sandhills, other dry woodlands. Distribution: Ne. AL northwest through n. GA and n. SC to w. NC.
Origin/Endemic status: Endemic
Taxonomy Comments: The more western B. leucophaea Nuttall is better treated as a species than as B. bracteata var. leucophaea (Nuttall) Kartesz & Gandhi (Mendenhall 1994b).
