*Indigofera hirsuta Linnaeus. Hairy Indigo. Phen: Jan-Dec. Hab: Sandy disturbed areas, utility rights-of-way, wildlife ‘food fields’. Dist: Native of the Old World tropics. First reported for SC by Nelson & Kelly (1997). Also known from other scattered locations in the Southeast, such as s. MS (S.W. Leonard, 2006, pers.comm.), AL (Diamond & Woods 2009), and VA (Cheterfield County) (Wright et al. 2023).

Origin/Endemic status: Paleotropics

Synonymy: = Fl3, FNA11.1, K1, K3, K4, SE3, WH3, Isely (1998); = n/a – RAB, Va
