*Indigofera spicata Forsskål. Trailing Indigo, Creeping Indigo. Phen: Jan-Dec. Hab: Dry, disturbed areas, hammocks, dunes. Dist: Native of Africa. Reported for Camden County, GA (Carter, Baker, & Morris 2009) and Mobile County, AL (Barger et al. 2012).

Origin/Endemic status: Subsaharan Africa

Taxonomy Comments: Plants referred to I. hendecaphylla in the southeastern United States are all (as far as is known) actually I. spicata; see Du Puy et al. (1993) and Franck (2018b) for explanation that there are two distinct species and the morphological differences separating them.
