Illicium parviflorum Michaux ex Ventenat. Section: Cymbostemon. Swamp Star-anise, Yellow Anise-tree, Ocala Anise-tree. Phen: Apr-Jun. Hab: Wet hammocks, swamps, bayheads, also sometimes cultivated and persistent. Dist: Native of central peninsular FL.

Origin/Endemic status: Endemic

Taxonomy Comments: Illicium parviflorum is most closely related to a group of West Indian species.

Other Comments: This species is extensively used in the horticultural trade and has been widely introduced in various places in the Southeastern United States.
