Quercus austrina Small. Subgenus: Quercus. Section: Quercus. Subsection: Stellatae. Bluff Oak. Phen: Apr; Oct (of the same year). Hab: River bluffs, mesic hammocks, dry hammocks, natural levees of brownwater rivers, over mafic rocks, on shell or calcareous sediments. Dist: Essentially a Southeastern Coastal Plain endemic: sc. NC south to n. FL and west to MS, and apparently disjunct in sw. AR.

Origin/Endemic status: Endemic

Synonymy: = Ar, Fl2, FNA3, K1, K3, K4, RAB, S13, WH3; < Quercus alba L. – S
