ON, south to NY, DE, MI, and MN, and in the mountains to WV, NC (?), and ne. TN (Johnson County) (Chester, Wofford, & Kral 1997), and NC (?). The documentation for Cronquist’s (1991) attribution of H. ellipticum to NC is unknown.
