*Ruta graveolens Linnaeus. Rue, Herb-of-grace. Phen: May-Aug; Jun-Sep. Hab: Cultivated in gardens as a medicinal herb, persistent and rarely escaping, sometimes locally abundant in pastures over limestone or gravelly floodplains. Dist: Native of Eurasia.
Origin/Endemic status: Eurasia
Other Comments: This plant causes dermatitis in some people, apparently by removing the skin's sun-resistance. Ruta has a disagreeable smell, and has toxic properties.
