Hibiscus laevis Allioni. Smooth Rose-mallow, Halberd-leaved Marsh-mallow, Showy Hibiscus. Phen: Jun-Aug (-Nov); Aug-Oct (-Dec). Hab: Freshwater marshes, exposed riverbanks, sandbars. Dist: S. PA south to FL Panhandle, west to TX; north in the interior to around the Great Lakes.
