Origin/Endemic status: Europe

Taxonomy Comments: There is substantial question about the taxonomic treatment of the H. trionum complex and the identity of the species (singular or plural) naturalized in e. North America (Craven et al. 2011; Murray, Craven, & de Lange 2008).
