*Physalis philadelphica Lamarck. Tomatillo. Phen: Jun-Sep (-May); Jul-Oct (-Jun). Hab: Naturalized after cultivation. Dist: Native of Mexico and Central America.

Origin/Endemic status: Neotropics

Taxonomy Comments: See Kartesz & Gandhi (1994) for a discussion of this group. It is the large-flowered plant (and therefore P. philadelphica in the narrow sense) that is weakly naturalized after cultivation in our area.
