Mecardonia acuminata (Walter) Small var. microphylla (Rafinesque) Pennell. Pond Axil-flower. Phen: Jul-Oct. Hab: Margins of Coastal Plain ponds, wet pine savannas. Dist: Sc. GA south to Panhandle FL and west to e. LA; also reported for SC and NC (Ahedor 2019b).
