Stachys cordata Riddell. Heart-leaved Hedge-nettle. Phen: Jun-Aug; Sep-Oct. Hab: Moist forests, especially alluvial bottomlands or over calcareous rocks. Dist: NY west to IL, south to SC, GA, AL, and AR.

Taxonomy Comments: Primarily montane, but extending east to Stokes County, NC, and Campbell County, VA. See Pringle (2002) for a discussion of nomenclature. Floden (2015) recognizes S. salvioides as separate from S. cordata.
